A Little Bit of Heaven

Another beautiful river morning.... something about being by the water always makes one feel good. Miss Tally is the little engine that could, I swear this dog never gets tired. The vet told me years ago that her heart was larger than most dogs for her size.  Must be it, her heart pumps enough fuel thru that little body so it just keeps her motoring on!

Sunny Morning

A slightly later start this morning for Inas's turn on the river, and the sun was shining brightly!  Playing in the water continues to be Inas's favorite part of our river trips.....he loves to retrieve the bumper in the water, but I think because he still has not mastered swimming on his way to the bumper, he is a little apprehensive.  But I still think he will get better with practice!!!!

Gray on Gray

This morning was Tally's turn. The morning air was heavy, a very hot day predicted, the atmosphere wet, kind of dismal... a gray dog in a gray morning... perfect!  Tally has immense energy and strength.  She has to bark to notify the world she wants to GO.  While working, asking her to lay down between throws is the only way to curb the barking. She is one crazy lady, gotta love her!!!!

Perfect River

This morning was Inas's turn for swimming.  Another beautiful start on the day.  The height of the swimming season; summer, locust buzzing, fish jumping, birds singing, Inas barking!!!! I do believe Inas is getting better at swimming. He still splashes on his way to the bumper, but right before he reaches it, the splashing stops.  Immediately before he grabs the bumper, he must adjust his front feet so they stay under him better.  Inas loves to retrieve, yet he still likes to take time out to "play" in the water with the bumper. Silly boy.

Back on Track

After several days of river rising and flooding again, finally the shoreline is back and we can resume water training. Today was Inas's turn, the air turned cooler last night, but the water this morning was very warm.  No improvement in swimming style at this point, but to be fair, alternating a dog each day only gets him to the river every three days, and with the flooding we have lost time.  However, fun is always on the menu, and fun we had. :-)
